Fluorine-18 is the most widely used radioisotope in positron emission tomography (PET). Its applications are numerous in the field of Oncology, Cardiology and Neurology. The most common tracer of this radionuclide is glucose analog labelled compound: fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG).
